Laos, WFP hold meeting on food security, nutrition

VIENTIANE, May 25 (Xinhua) -- Representatives of Laos and the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) have met here discussing on the increasing global challenges to food security and nutrition, such as economic crises, climate change, and disasters, Lao News Agency reported on Sunday.

The WFP remains a vital partner to the Lao government in addressing food security and nutrition, according to the media.

In 2024, the WFP supported vulnerable communities through several initiatives, including the expansion of the school lunch program, which benefited over 63,000 students across 702 schools. More than 4,000 teachers and government officials received training on healthy eating. Enditem
