Fire at music bar in central Myanmar claims 4 lives

YANGON, May 28 (Xinhua) -- A tragic fire at a music bar in central Myanmar claimed the lives of four girls on Wednesday morning, local police said on Wednesday.

The blaze broke out at around 9:48 a.m. local time in Chanayethazan township, Mandalay, and was brought under control by 10:15 a.m. local time, a Chanayethazan township police officer told Xinhua.

Four female employees died at the scene, the police officer said.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an electrical fault during welding at the music bar building, which was under maintenance due to recent earthquake damage, the police officer added. Enditem
