HANOI, June 2 (Xinhua) -- A total of 4,328 people were killed and 5,307 others injured in traffic accidents across Vietnam between Dec. 15, 2024, and May 14, 2025, according to a report from the National Traffic Safety Committee.
Tran Huu Minh, chief of the committee's office, said the figures represent a significant decline compared to the same period last year, Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday.
Road accidents accounted for the vast majority of traffic accidents, with 7,781 cases resulting in 4,277 deaths and 5,292 injuries.
These figures reflect year-on-year decreases of 25.31 percent in the number of traffic accidents, 5.56 percent in fatalities and 34.72 percent in injuries, said the report. Enditem
