JAKARTA, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's consumer confidence in the national economy stood at 117.5 in May 2025, down from 121.1 in the previous month, according to a survey by the country's central bank.
"This figure remains an optimistic level, above the 100 threshold, indicating that consumer confidence in economic conditions is still well-maintained, supported by both the current economic conditions index and the consumer expectations index, which also remain optimistic," said Ramdan Denny Prakoso, executive director of the communication department at the central bank, on Thursday.
The current economic conditions index was recorded at 106.0 in May, a slight decline from 113.7 in the previous month.
Meanwhile, the consumer expectations index stood at 129.0 in May, compared to 129.8 in April.
This monthly survey has been conducted since October 1999, and since January 2007, it has involved around 4,600 households as respondents across 18 cities in Indonesia. Enditem
