BRATISLAVA, June 16 (Xinhua) -- A Slovak plane carrying 73 people evacuated from the crisis-hit Middle East arrived in the capital Bratislava on Monday evening.
The flight returned from Israel via Amman, Jordan. According to Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar, the plane was carrying 30 Slovak nationals, including embassy staff. The group also included citizens from other countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland, and Austria.
Blanar said that additional evacuation flights are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Slovak Foreign Ministry told the News Agency of the Slovak Republic on Sunday that the security situation in the Middle East is evolving rapidly. It noted that the ministry is maintaining contact with all Slovak citizens in the region who are registered in its voluntary system, and is providing them with appropriate guidance and support.
