PRAGUE, June 22 (Xinhua) -- A Czech military aircraft carrying 82 evacuees from Israel arrived in Prague early Sunday morning, according to the Ministry of Defense.
Most of those on board were Czech nationals, the ministry said in a statement. "Due to the closure of airspace, it was not possible to send a military plane directly to Israel. Therefore, the evacuation took place again via one of the neighboring countries," the statement noted.
This was the second Czech evacuation flight organized in response to the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran. The first flight, which repatriated 66 individuals, landed in Prague on Tuesday.
The ministry said that departing Israel remains difficult due to the country's airspace closure. It advised Czech citizens in emergency situations to contact the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv for assistance or further guidance.
Earlier this week, the Czech Republic announced the temporary closure of its embassy in Tehran, Iran, amid escalating regional tensions. Enditem
