VIENTIANE, June 24 (Xinhua) -- Laos' Ministry of Education and Sports was working to strengthen coordination and monitoring within the education sector and among its partners to enhance the quality of teacher education, training, and professional development at all levels.
According to a report released by the ministry on Tuesday, representatives from the ministry's Teacher Education Department and key stakeholders discussed progress on the Teacher Education Action Plan 2025, inclusive education equity, the integration of gender equality into teacher education, and efforts to strengthen continuous professional development for primary school principals and teachers.
The ministry emphasized the importance of strengthening planning, monitoring, and coordination among departments and development partners to efficiently develop and implement policies and programs that enhance teacher education, training, and professional development across all education levels.
The National Assembly of Laos was reviewing a new draft law on general education aimed at improving the quality, accessibility, and governance of education throughout the country.
