TEHRAN, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Iran has fully resumed normal airport operations and reopened its airspace to international overflights around the clock, the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) said Thursday in a statement.

Mehrabad International Airport, Tehran's primary airport, will provide daily services from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time (0030 to 1530 GMT), read the statement published on CAO's website. However, the statement noted that training and recreational flights remain suspended until further notice.

The decision was made following precise security and safety assessments and in view of the country's current circumstances, it said.

Iran closed its airspace on June 13 following Israeli airstrikes on several areas in the country. Following 12 days of war, a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was achieved on June 24.

On July 3, Iran reopened its airspace to domestic, foreign, and international transit flights, and said all its airports had become operational, providing services between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time (0130 to 1430 GMT), except those in the northwestern city of Tabriz and the central city of Isfahan, which had been damaged during the war.

On July 5, Tabriz Shahid Madani International Airport resumed flights, and so did Isfahan Shahid Beheshti International Airport on Thursday. Enditem
