LOS ANGELES, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- U.S. private space company SpaceX scrubbed the 10th flight test of its powerful Starship rocket on Monday due to unfavorable weather conditions.

The launch had initially been scheduled for Sunday from the company's Starbase facility in the U.S. state of Texas, but was delayed by a ground system issue and rescheduled for Monday.

Monday's launch attempt was halted at T-minus 40 seconds before SpaceX announced on the social media platform X that the flight was canceled due to weather.

The team is determining the next best available opportunity to fly, said SpaceX.

The 10th flight test is expected to target similar objectives as previous missions, including Starship's first payload deployment and multiple reentry experiments geared towards returning the upper stage to the launch site for catch, it added.

SpaceX's Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket, collectively referred to as Starship, represent a fully reusable transportation system designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond. Enditem
