BRAZZAVILLE, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou Nguesso vowed Monday to accelerate the implementation of the consensus of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).
Sassou made the remarks during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of the Congo An Qing, with a special reference to the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit held in early September 2024.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties more than 60 years ago, the two countries have maintained close exchanges and brotherly relations, which he has been participating in and witnessing, said Sassou.
The Republic of the Congo, he added, stands ready to strengthen friendly exchanges with China, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote further development of bilateral relations and Africa-China relations.
For her part, An said that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China and the Republic of the Congo have maintained mutual trust, supported each other and pursued common development, making their ties a model for relations among developing countries.
She said China looks to further consolidate traditional friendship, strengthen political trust and deepen strategic cooperation across various sectors with the Republic of the Congo. Enditem
