TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme National Security Council has approved the return of inspectors from the UN nuclear watchdog, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Wednesday.

He told state news agency IRNA the inspectors were allowed in to oversee the replacement of fuel at the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Araghchi also denied reports that Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had agreed on a new cooperation framework, saying no text had been finalized despite exchanges of proposals.

IAEA chief Rafael Grossi said on Tuesday the agency's inspectors had returned to Iran for the first time since being expelled during the June conflict. (Iran-IAEA-Return of Inspectors)

DAMASCUS -- Syria's foreign affairs authorities on Wednesday condemned an Israeli drone strike that killing six soldiers at a Syrian army unit near the town of al-Kiswah, south of Damascus.

BEIRUT -- Protests in southern Lebanon on Wednesday forced U.S. envoy Tom Barrack to cut short a planned tour of the border region, security sources and eyewitnesses said.

JERUSALEM -- Israel's military spokesman Avichay Adraee said on Wednesday that the evacuation of Gaza City was "unavoidable," urging residents to head south ahead of "the next stage of the war."

In a video message posted in Arabic on social media platform X, Adraee said, "Every family that relocates to the south will receive the maximum humanitarian assistance currently being prepared."
