ISLAMABAD -- A paramilitary soldier was killed and seven others were injured when militants attacked a security forces' installation in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early Tuesday morning, officials said.

KABUL -- A 5.2-magnitude earthquake jolted Afghanistan's Nangarhar province on Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.

KABUL -- A catastrophic 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan has resulted in 1,411 deaths and 3,124 injuries in Kunar province alone, Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Afghan interim government, said on Tuesday.
