HANOI, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam's railway sector is expected to train about 140,000 high-skilled personnel by 2045 to meet the requirements of high-speed rail, electrified national railways and urban railway projects, according to a draft project developed by the Ministry of Construction.
Between 2025 and 2030, the sector aims to train at least 35,000 personnel with a focus on high-skilled workers, local media VnEconomy reported Thursday.
A further 105,000 personnel will be trained from 2031 to 2045 to meet project deployment needs and strengthen teaching staff at training institutions.
Vietnam is entering a new stage in railway development with the rollout of key national infrastructure projects, including the North-South high-speed railway and the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway.
The government has recently approved a plan to develop nine new railway lines and upgrade seven existing ones, targeting 28 urban railway lines in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with a total length of more than 1,100 km by 2045, according to the government. Enditem
