3 die in southern Philippine fire

MANILA, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- A couple and their 13-year-old daughter died in a fire that razed their house in a subdivision in Cagayan de Oro City in the southern Philippines, the Bureau of Fire Protection said Tuesday.

The bureau said the victims were trapped inside the house when fire broke out before midnight on Monday. Their bodies were found near the door early on Tuesday.

According to the bureau, the fire may have spread quickly because the second floor of the house was made of flammable materials and contained piles of cloth, as the male victim worked as a tailor. Enditem
