MOSCOW, Oct. 28 (Xinhua) -- Russian cosmonauts on Tuesday installed scientific equipment on the outer surface of the International Space Station (ISS) during their second spacewalk this year, Russia's state space corporation Roscosmos said.
According to Roscosmos, cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky are expected to work on the external surface of the ISS for 6.5 hours.
Their main task is to install equipment for the Impulse scientific experiment, which will allow scientists to study the properties of the Earth's ionosphere, said the Russian corporation.
Other tasks include cleaning the window of the Nauka module, replacing a cassette in the semiconductor growth equipment on the module, and relocating an external control panel, it added.
On Oct. 16, Russian cosmonauts completed the first spacewalk of 2025 from the Russian segment of the ISS, which lasted for six hours, 11 minutes and 12 seconds. Enditem
