VILNIUS, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Lithuania has introduced a new mobile application, InfoDesk App, designed to help newly arrived foreigners access information from various institutions more easily, the Reception and Integration Agency announced on Tuesday.
The app aims to address a long-standing challenge faced by newcomers - fragmented information spread across multiple institutional websites, the Baltic News Service (BNS) reported.
InfoDesk App will provide users with essential information on residence permits, education opportunities, health care, the labor market, language courses, and cultural integration. It will also include updates for foreigners staying in temporary accommodation, along with news, event listings, training opportunities, consultations, contact details, and available services.
Social Security and Labor Minister Jurate Zailskiene said the app is expected to promote smoother adaptation and long-term integration.
"We believe that this digital tool will contribute to smoother adaptation, greater independence, and successful long-term integration," Zailskiene said.
According to the Migration Department, approximately 210,000 foreigners were living in Lithuania at the beginning of September. Enditem
