LONDON, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- As the world faces the mounting challenge of climate change and a pressing need for sustainable growth, a recent report by The Economist said the global community should embrace China's clean-energy transformation, a revolution reshaping both the world's energy landscape and its economic future.

According to the report, the scale of China's renewables revolution is unprecedented in human history. By the end of 2024, China had installed 887 gigawatts of solar-power capacity, nearly double the combined total of Europe and the United States. The country generated 1,826 terawatt-hours of wind and solar electricity last year.

Beyond its borders, China is also sharing this transformation with the rest of the world, it said, adding that China not only reduces global emissions but also aligns economic and environmental interests worldwide.

As The Economist concluded, solar and wind offer the best hope of limiting further rises. "Even if climate change is not your priority, you should be excited at the prospect of cheap, abundant clean energy and its promise to improve billions of lives in developing countries." Enditem
