VIENNA -- The 330 kilovolt Ferosplavna-1 line was reconnected to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) after repair work on Saturday, providing back-up power for the first time in six months, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

SAO PAULO -- The death toll from a tornado that struck Brazil's southern state of Parana on Friday night rose to six, with around 750 people injured and at least one person missing, authorities said Saturday.
Several homes and buildings were destroyed in the town of Rio Bonito do Iguacu, which rescue teams described as resembling a war zone, local media reported, adding that about 80 percent of the town, home to some 14,000 people, was devastated. (Brazil-Tornado-Death)

GAZA -- The Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, recovered on Saturday the body of an Israeli soldier captured during the 2014 conflict, from a tunnel in the southern Gaza city of Rafah, a source from the group said.
The source, who requested anonymity, told Xinhua that the remains were identified as those of Israeli soldier Hadar Goldin.
