AMMAN, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Jordan sent a new convoy of humanitarian aid to Syria on Sunday as part of its ongoing effort to help Syrians cope with worsening humanitarian conditions, officials said.
The shipment was organized by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Jordanian Armed Forces, the JHCO stated.
The convoy included 16 trucks carrying prefabricated housing units, medical supplies, and medicines. The aid was sent in coordination with the Syrian authorities to address urgent humanitarian and health needs in affected areas, according to the statement.
Jordan, working with Qatar, had earlier sent a joint aid convoy to Syria in September as part of a broader Arab initiative to help the country recover from recent unrest in Sweida, the JHCO added. Enditem
