Vietnam's credit growth forecast at 19-20 pct this year

HANOI, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- The State Bank of Vietnam has forecast that the country's credit growth will reach between 19 and 20 percent by the end of 2025, as capital demand and the economy's absorption capacity remain positive, the Vietnam News Agency reported on Monday.

Financial statements from 27 listed banks showed that the total outstanding loans rose by 15 percent from the end of 2024, reaching over 13.6 quadrillion Vietnamese dong (about 541.61 billion U.S. dollars).

This growth is viewed as an encouraging signal for economic expansion, though it comes with challenges regarding liquidity and quality control, according to the report. Enditem
