Dengue death toll rises to 36 in Pakistan's Sindh

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Three more people died of dengue fever in Pakistan's southern Sindh province, bringing the total fatalities this year to 36, the provincial health department said Saturday.

A 50-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman died in Hyderabad district, while a 55-year-old woman passed away in Karachi, it said.

A total of 5,229 tests were conducted during the period, with 774 returning positive, the department said. Over 180 patients were also admitted to hospitals across Sindh during the same period, while 191 patients were discharged after recovery.

Health officials urged residents to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and seek prompt medical attention in case of symptoms. Enditem
