YANGON, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar kicked off the 60th ASEAN Transport Officials Meeting and related meetings in hybrid mode in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday, the state-owned daily Myanma Alinn reported on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, Myanmar's Union Minister for Transport and Communications, U Mya Tun Oo, said Myanmar was greatly honored and delighted to serve as the host country for the meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), the report said.
He expressed gratitude for the continued cooperation and commitment of ASEAN countries and dialogue partners in promoting innovation and capacity building for the sustainable development of the ASEAN region's transport sector, the report said.
Senior officials from ASEAN member states and dialogue partners including China, Japan, South Korea, and the European Union were attending the meeting, which is scheduled to take place from Nov. 17 to 19. Enditem
