SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's consumer sentiment rebounded in three months due to the finalized tariff agreement between Seoul and Washington, central bank data showed Tuesday.

The composite consumer sentiment index (CCSI), which gauges the sentiment of consumers over the economic situation, rose 2.6 points over the month to 112.4 in November after sliding 1.3 points in September and 0.3 points in October, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

It marked the highest in eight years since November 2017, when the index recorded 113.9.

The turnaround came after South Korea and the United States finalized their tariff and security agreement amid the better-than-expected announcement of the Asian country's real gross domestic product (GDP) for the third quarter.

The sub-index for the current economic situation gained 5 points to 96 in November compared to the previous month, while the index for economic outlook advanced 8 points to 102.

Inflation expectations, which measure the outlook among consumers over headline inflation for the next 12 months, stood unchanged at 2.6 percent in November on a monthly basis.

After peaking at 4.7 percent in July 2022, the inflation expectations had been roughly on the decline.

The result was based on a survey of 2,276 households conducted from Nov. 11 to 18. Enditem
