HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government will set up an independent commission chaired by a judge to conduct a thorough investigation into the recent residential fire and ensure full accountability for those responsible, John Lee, HKSAR chief executive, told reporters on Tuesday.

JAKARTA -- The death toll from recent floods and landslides across three provinces on Indonesia's Sumatra Island has risen to 712, with 507 people still missing, the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) said on Tuesday.
