SEOUL, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- South Korea's revised real gross domestic product (GDP), adjusted for inflation, grew 1.3 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter, central bank data showed Wednesday.

It was up from the preliminary figure of 1.2 percent unveiled in October and higher than an expansion of 0.7 percent in the second quarter, according to the Bank of Korea (BOK).

Export, which accounts for about half of the export-driven economy, rose 2.1 percent in the July-September quarter after expanding 4.5 percent in the April-June quarter.

Private consumption mounted 1.3 percent in the third quarter from three months earlier, faster than an increase of 0.5 percent in the second quarter.

Construction investment climbed 0.6 percent in the cited quarter, while facility investment swelled 2.6 percent.

The real gross national income, which measures the combined income earned at home and abroad by people and businesses, gained 0.8 percent in the third quarter on a quarterly basis.

The GDP deflator, or the ratio of nominal GDP to real GDP to gauge the change of prices for all goods and services produced in the country, went up 2.7 percent in the third quarter from a year earlier, lower than an increase of 2.8 percent in the previous quarter. Enditem
