MADRID, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- FC Barcelona faces being without attacking midfielder Dani Olmo until the New Year after the club confirmed he suffered a shoulder injury during his side's 3-1 win at home to Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
"The first team player Dani Olmo suffered a dislocated left shoulder in the game on Tuesday against Atletico Madrid. After tests, it has been decided to follow a conservative course of treatment. Recovery time is approximately one month," explained the FC Barcelona website.
Olmo fell badly after scoring the goal that put Barcelona ahead in the game in the 64th minute and was replaced by Ferran Torres.
The injury means Olmo will miss difficult away games to Betis and Villarreal in La Liga, along with a home game against Osasuna and a Champions League clash at home to Eintracht Frankfurt, but should be fit to play in the Supercup in Saudi Arabia in early January.
It is the second time in his career Olmo has suffered the injury, with the first time happening when he was with RB Leipzig.
The Spain international's season has been affected by injury, but he had been returning to his best form in recent matches, scoring twice in the hard-fought 3-1 win against Deportivo Alaves. Enditem
