KABUL, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Afghan police have seized a quantity of illegal drugs and arrested two individuals suspected of involvement in drug trafficking in northern Afghanistan's Badakhshan province, provincial police spokesman Ehsanullah Kamgar said on Saturday.
According to Kamgar, the suspects were caught red-handed while transporting 20 kg of hashish in Baharak district of the province. Both individuals have been taken into custody for further investigation.
Afghan authorities reiterated their commitments to combating narcotics in the region, emphasizing that no one will be permitted to produce or smuggle illegal drugs within the province. Enditem
