HANOI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and three others injured in a traffic accident on the North-South Expressway in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri on Monday morning, Vietnam News Agency reported.
The collision occurred at around 5:30 a.m. between a tractor-trailer and a truck traveling in the same direction. The truck sustained heavy front-end damage.
The accident caused traffic congestion for several kilometers along the expressway.
Vietnam recorded 16,816 traffic accidents in the first 11 months of this year, leaving 9,502 people dead and 11,142 injured, according to the National Statistics Office. Enditem
