RABAT -- The death toll from the collapse of two residential buildings in the Moroccan city of Fez has risen to 22, the public prosecutor said on Wednesday, revising an earlier figure of 19.

The incident occurred late on Tuesday in the Al-Mustaqbal neighbourhood when an unoccupied building collapsed, triggering the collapse of an adjacent four-story structure, the prosecutor said. The second building was hosting a traditional Aqiqah celebration marking a birth. Women and children were among the victims. Sixteen other people were injured, with some in serious condition. ALGIERS -- China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) said on Wednesday it has completed track-laying on the PK330 Bridge, Africa's longest heavy-haul railway bridge, marking a key milestone in Algeria's Western Mining Railway project.

The 6-km bridge, which crosses shifting sand and gravel in Tindouf province about 1,250 km southwest of Algiers, is the most technically complex section of the 575-km railway linking Bechar province with the Gara Djebilet iron ore deposit, one of the world's largest. BEIRUT -- The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) said on Wednesday that Israeli forces fired on peacekeepers patrolling the Blue Line in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, calling the incident a "serious violation" of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

UNIFIL said a Merkava tank near the town of Sarda fired one 10-round burst of machine-gun fire over the peacekeepers' convoy, followed by four additional 10-round bursts nearby. CAIRO -- Egypt's beloved national dish Koshary has been officially inscribed on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity for 2025, the Egyptian Ministry of Culture said Wednesday in a statement.

The inclusion marks the 11th item registered in Egypt's name on UNESCO's intangible heritage lists, read the statement. Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Fouad Hanno called it a new confirmation of the global interest in the daily life culture of Egyptians, which represents an authentic part of their identity, read the statement.
