KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Police have discovered a large cache of munitions in the eastern Afghan province of Laghman, the country's Ministry of Interior Affairs said Saturday.
In a statement posted on its social media account X, the ministry said the cache, found in Alishing district, contained a variety of ammunition, including 51 mortar shells, hundreds of projectiles, and rounds for anti-aircraft guns.
The statement added that no arrests have been made yet, and that police operations are ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for illegally storing the weapons.
It further warned that police will not allow the illegal possession or carrying of arms, and that legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order in the post-war nation. Enditem
