BEIRUT/JERUSALEM, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- One Hezbollah member was killed and another wounded on Sunday in Israeli airstrikes in the southern Lebanese village of Yater, according to multiple sources.
According to Lebanon's National News Agency, Israeli drones struck a car and a motorcycle in the village. The Ministry of Public Health confirmed one death and one injury, while a security source identified the deceased as Hezbollah member Ali Kamel al-Kourani.
The Israeli army confirmed the strike in a statement, saying it targeted two Hezbollah members.
Despite a ceasefire brokered by the United States and France that took effect on Nov. 27, 2024, Israel has continued intermittent strikes in Lebanon, citing Hezbollah "threats," and has kept forces at five border positions beyond a Feb. 18 withdrawal deadline. Enditem
