KUWAIT CITY -- The Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works and China Communications Construction Company Limited (CCCC) on Monday signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for the first phase of the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project on Boubyan Island in northern Jahra Governorate.
Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, cabinet ministers, and representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait and Chinese enterprises attended the ceremony. (Kuwait-Port-China-Construction)

TEHRAN -- Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Monday that Iran's missile program has been developed to defend the country's sovereignty and is "non-negotiable."
He made the remarks at a weekly press conference in response to a question about whether recent reports in U.S. media, regarding Israel's plans to prepare the ground for a possible new military action against Iran, were intended to pressure the country into acquiescing to negotiations over its missile program. BEIRUT -- Three people were killed Monday in an Israeli drone strike deep in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese sources.
Lebanon's official National News Agency reported that the strike "targeted a car on the Aaqtnait-Quneitra-Maamariyah road in the Sidon district," killing three people inside it. The Public Health Ministry's Emergency Operations Center also confirmed the strike and the death toll. (Israel-Lebanon-Conflict)

CAIRO -- Israel's recent approval of 19 new settlements in the occupied West Bank is illegitimate, Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit said Monday.
