ISLAMABAD, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces killed two militants during an intelligence-based operation conducted in the Dera Ismail Khan district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, the operation was carried out after reports indicated the presence of militants on Wednesday.
Security forces engaged the suspected hideout, resulting in the killing of two militants, including a wanted ring leader who was highly wanted by law enforcement agencies for his involvement in multiple terrorist activities.
The government had announced a reward of 4 million Pakistani rupees (around 14,277 U.S. dollars) for information leading to his arrest, the statement added.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed terrorists, who were involved in attacks on security forces and the killing of civilians, ISPR said. Enditem
