ISTANBUL -- Nine people, including three police officers and six suspected Islamic State (IS) members, were killed and nine others wounded during an operation targeting IS members in the northwestern Turkish province of Yalova on Monday, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said.
Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, Yerlikaya said simultaneous operations were carried out at 108 separate addresses across 15 provinces as part of a nationwide crackdown against IS over the night. (Türkiye-IS-Operations)

JAKARTA -- Indonesian police are conducting identification procedures for 16 people killed in a fire that broke out at a nursing home in Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi province, local authorities said on Monday.
The victims' bodies are being identified at Bhayangkara Hospital of the North Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulut), according to Alamsyah P. Hasibuan, head of public relations of Polda Sulut. WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that the two sides are "getting a lot closer, maybe very close" to a peace deal to end the Ukraine crisis after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
