WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday that he will try to get the second phase of the Gaza peace plan started very quickly, underscoring that the disarmament of Hamas would be a central condition.

"Very quickly, as quickly as we can, but there has to be a disarmament," Trump told reporters while welcoming visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

SEOUL -- South Korea's special counsel on Monday finalized investigations into corruption charges of former impeached President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife.

The team of independent counsel Min Joong-ki said in a statement, unveiled after wrapping up the 180-day probe, that it filed charges against a total of 76 people, including 20 indicted under detention.

It noted that the allegations against Yoon and his wife, Kim Keon-hee, were wide-ranging, including: stock price manipulation, accepting luxury gifts, illegally interfering in the relocation of the presidential office and residence, and illegally receiving political funds. ISTANBUL -- Nine people, including three police officers and six suspected Islamic State (IS) members, were killed and nine others wounded during an operation targeting IS members in the northwestern Turkish province of Yalova on Monday, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said.

Speaking at a press conference in Ankara, Yerlikaya said simultaneous operations were carried out at 108 separate addresses across 15 provinces as part of a nationwide crackdown against IS over the night.

Yerlikaya said the Yalova raid was launched at around 2 a.m. local time (2300 GMT on Sunday), when police targeted a residence believed to be used by IS suspects. The suspects opened fire on security forces, killing three police officers, while eight others and one night watchman were wounded, he added. (Türkiye-IS-Operations)

KIEV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the U.S. security guarantees for Ukraine have been fully agreed, the Interfax-Ukraine news agency reported on Monday.

Speaking with reporters after he met with U.S. President Donald Trump, Zelensky said a 20-point peace plan, part of the proposed peace deal, is 90 percent agreed upon, and the trilateral security guarantees involving the United States, Europe and Ukraine are "almost agreed."
