KIEV, Jan. 2 (Xinhua) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday that Oleh Ivashchenko, currently head of the country's Foreign Intelligence Service, will serve as the new chief of Defense Intelligence, the Ukrinform news agency reported.
"Starting today, Oleh Ivashchenko will continue serving our state and carrying out tasks to limit Russia's military potential in a position within the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine," Zelensky said.
Presidential adviser on communications Dmytro Lytvyn added that the necessary documents for the appointment are currently being prepared.
Earlier in the day, Zelensky offered the position of the presidential office head to Defense Intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov. Enditem
