BEIJING, Jan. 3 (Xinhua) -- South Korean President Lee Jae Myung will pay a state visit to China from Sunday to Wednesday, at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Born in December 1964, Lee has since 2010 served successively as mayor of Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province and as governor of Gyeonggi Province.
Since 2022, he has been elected twice as a National Assembly member of the Democratic Party of Korea and served as the leader of the party.
Lee assumed office as South Korean president in June 2025.
Lee is married to Kim Hea Kyung with two sons.
This is President Lee's first state visit to China since taking office. Enditem
