ULAN BATOR -- Mongolia has extended its visa-free access for tourists from 34 countries until the end of 2026, according to the country's Immigration Agency (MIA) on Saturday.
The government's decision prolongs the visa-free entry regime for citizens of 32 European countries and two island countries through Dec. 31, 2026, the MIA said in a statement. (Mongolia-Visa Exemption Entry)

ISLAMABAD -- A police check post in Pakistan's Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province came under attack in the early hours of Saturday, killing a person and leaving three others injured, said police.
At least two policemen were among the injured, Israr Khan, spokesperson for the district police, told the media, adding that a group of terrorists attacked the check post using both heavy and light weapons. (Pakistan-Police-Attack)

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka plans to allocate nearly one billion U.S. dollars in 2026 for road construction and the repair of roads damaged by floods and landslides caused by Cyclone Ditwah, a senior minister said on Saturday.
Minister of Transport, Highways and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake told journalists that about 486 million dollars have been allocated for reconstructing damaged roads, while another 486 million dollars will be used for new road construction. (Sri Lanka-Roads) Enditem
