ADEN, Yemen -- Yemen's internationally recognized government said on Saturday its forces had regained full control of the oil-rich southeastern province of Hadramout after a Saudi-backed military operation forced out fighters loyal to the Southern Transitional Council (STC).
Rashad al-Alimi, head of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), said he had ordered security forces to secure state institutions and protect public and private property after government troops retook all military and security sites in the province, according to the state-run news agency Saba. TEHRAN -- Three people were killed in clashes during protests in Iran's western Ilam province on Saturday evening, the semi-official Fars news agency reported, citing informed sources.
Fars said "rioters" attempted to storm a law enforcement center in Malekshahi county, triggering clashes with security forces. One member of the security forces and two "rioters" were killed, it said, adding that several others were wounded. (Iran-Protests-Casualty)

GAZA -- Two Palestinians, including an 11-year-old girl, were killed on Saturday by Israeli fire in the Gaza Strip, as Israel carried out airstrikes across the eastern part of the enclave, Palestinian sources reported.
Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Gaza Civil Defense, told Xinhua that a 27-year-old man was shot dead while attempting to reach his home in the Shuja'iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The neighborhood lies close to the so-called "yellow line," a demarcation marking areas where Israeli troops remain deployed and where civilians are frequently warned not to cross. CAIRO -- Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmed Aboul-Gheit on Saturday welcomed Saudi Arabia's announcement of holding a comprehensive conference in Riyadh to seek "just solutions" for the southern Yemeni issue.
