BEIJING, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- The Shanghai Sharks beat defending champion Zhejiang Lions 99-77 for their seventh straight win, while Gabriel York sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Zhejiang Golden Bulls past the Guangdong Southern Tigers 88-87 as the 11th round of the Chinese Basketball Association season ended on Tuesday.
Without star guard Barry Brown Jr., the Zhejiang Lions struggled offensively. Six Shanghai players scored in double figures, while Hu Jinqiu led Zhejiang with 22 points.
Shanghai head coach Lu Wei said after the win, "We demonstrated defensive execution today. Our players keep focused throughout the match. We hope to maintain the momentum and continue the winning streak."
Against the Southern Tigers, the Golden Bulls battled to the final second. York drilled the game-winning 3-pointer from near midcourt as time expired.
York made four 3-pointers and scored 16 points, while Dakari Johnson came off the bench with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Xu Jie scored a team-high 22 points for Guangdong in the home loss.
The Beijing Ducks also edged the Ningbo Rockets 88-83. Eugene German scored 25 points for Beijing, while Zhou Qi added 18 points, six rebounds and two blocks.
After 11 rounds, the Zhejiang Lions, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangdong all had nine wins and two losses to lead the standings.
By contrast, the Sichuan Blue Whales remained winless after a 97-79 loss to the Shanxi Loongs.
In other games, the Shenzhen Aviators beat the Qingdao Eagles 92-83, the Shandong Heroes defeated the Fujian Sturgeons 105-99 in overtime, the Guangzhou Loong Lions beat the Xinjiang Flying Tigers 79-76, the Jilin Northeast Tigers beat the Jiangsu Dragons 83-72, the Liaoning Flying Leopards beat the Nanjing Monkey Kings 79-66, and the Tianjin Pioneers defeated the Beijing Royal Fighters 110-103.
