KIEV -- Ukraine, France and the United Kingdom on Tuesday signed a Declaration of Intent on the deployment of multinational forces to support Ukraine's defense, reconstruction, and strategic resilience after a peace agreement is achieved, the Ukrinform news agency reported.

The document was signed in Paris by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, French President Emmanuel Macron, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The signing followed a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing, which brought together leaders of several European countries, as well as White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law. (Ukraine-France-UK-Military Deployment)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump and his team are weighing "a range of options" to acquire Denmark's Greenland, including "utilizing the U.S. military," White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement on Tuesday.

"The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander-in-chief's disposal," Leavitt told Xinhua in an emailed statement. (U.S.-Greenland-Military)

HELSINKI -- Finnish President Alexander Stubb said on Tuesday that there is "no room for interpretation" regarding Greenland's status, stressing that decisions about the autonomous territory rest solely with Denmark and Greenland.

"Greenland is an autonomous region that belongs to Denmark. Only Denmark and Greenland decide about its affairs," Stubb told Finnish media in Paris, where he attended a "Coalition of the Willing" meeting on Ukraine. (Finland-U.S.-Greenland)

ADDIS ABABA -- At least 22 Ethiopian migrants were killed and about 65 others injured in a traffic accident in the northeastern Afar regional state on Tuesday, according to local authorities.

The accident happened at dawn when a lorry carrying migrants overturned, the Afar Regional Government Communication Office said in a statement.

The injured are currently receiving medical treatment at nearby health facilities, many of them in critical condition, according to the statement. (Ethiopia-Traffic Accident-Death) Enditem
