CARACAS, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Venezuela's National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said Thursday that the government is carrying out the release of "a significant number of Venezuelan and foreign people."
Rodriguez said the measure reflects the government's "unwavering commitment to guaranteeing peace in the Republic and promoting peaceful coexistence among all people, regardless of political, religious, economic or social differences."
"These release processes are taking place as of this very moment. Consider this a gesture by the Bolivarian government of its broad intention to seek peace," Rodriguez said. Enditem
