VIENNA, Jan. 9 (Xinhua) -- Austria's exports to the United States dropped by 20.8 percent to 10.8 billion euros (12.5 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months of 2025, according to preliminary calculations by Statistics Austria on Friday.

The sharpest decline was recorded in medical and pharmaceutical products, where the export volume to the United States almost halved, Statistics Austria said.

From January to October 2025, Austria registered a trade deficit of 4.49 billion euros, compared with a surplus of 2.89 billion euros in the same period of the previous year.

The four most important product groups in Austria's international trade, namely machinery and vehicles, processed goods, chemical products, and other manufactured goods, together showed a decrease of 1.8 percent on the export side, and an increase of 3.8 percent in imports.
