KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia has temporarily blocked access to Grok, an AI chatbot developed by xAI, citing concerns over the generation and dissemination of obscene and sexually explicit content, the country's communications and multimedia regulator said on Sunday.

ISLAMABAD -- The death toll from a gas explosion at a wedding house in Pakistan's federal capital, Islamabad, has risen to eight, including a newlywed couple, while 11 others were injured, local authorities said on Sunday.

HONG KONG -- The Hong Kong section of the high-speed rail connecting the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong will introduce 16 new destinations starting from Jan. 26, railway operator MTR Corporation announced on Sunday.

The new destinations will connect Hong Kong with popular tourist cities, including Nanjing and Wuxi in Jiangsu Province, and Hefei in Anhui Province. MANILA -- The death toll from a dumpsite collapse in the central Philippine city of Cebu has risen to six as search and rescue operations continued on Sunday for more than 30 people still missing, authorities said.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in the Central Visayas region said 12 individuals have been rescued so far, all of whom sustained injuries, while at least 31 others remained unaccounted for as of Sunday, three days after a mountain of garbage collapsed on Thursday afternoon.
