PHNOM PENH, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) on Monday donated 70 life-saving reproductive health kits to Cambodia's Ministry of Health to help strengthen the health system in border communities.
"These critical supplies ensure that women and newborns can access life-saving interventions, even during difficult times," said a UNFPA press release.
The reproductive health kits included a range of medical equipment and medicines designed for emergency obstetric and newborn care, the press release said, adding that they were clean delivery kits, clinical delivery assistance kits, emergency obstetric care kits and specialized kits.
"The Ministry of Health is committed to ensuring that every citizen, especially those affected by conflict, has equitable access to quality healthcare services," said Cambodian Minister of Health Chheang Ra.
Sandra Bernklau, UNFPA representative to Cambodia, said these reproductive health kits ensured that all mothers and newborn babies are supported during emergencies. Enditem
