BEIJING -- China and the European Union have agreed on the necessity of providing general guidance on price undertakings for Chinese companies exporting battery electric vehicle (BEV) passenger cars to the EU, according to China's Ministry of Commerce on Monday.
The move aims to address relevant concerns in a way that is more practical, targeted and consistent with WTO rules, the ministry said in a statement.
It noted that in the spirit of mutual respect, the two sides have conducted multiple rounds of consultation in order to implement the consensus of the China-EU Summit and properly resolve the EU's anti-subsidy case concerning Chinese BEVs. (China-EU-BEV)

NEW DELHI -- The death toll in the fire that broke out in India's northern hilly state of Himachal Pradesh early Monday morning was feared to have risen to 10, confirmed a local official over the phone.
The 3-storey residential building, mainly made of wood, had caught fire and later collapsed, trapping all 10 people belonging to two different families hailing from Nepal.
The victims were sleeping when the fire broke out. Five women and a child were among the victims. (India-Fire-Death)

TEHRAN -- Tens of thousands of pro-government citizens took to the streets across Iran on Monday, responding to calls from Iranian authorities to demonstrate solidarity.
State media broadcast images of large crowds converging on Enghelab Square in the capital, with demonstrators chanting slogans such as "Death to America," "Death to Israel," and "Death to the enemies of God."

OSLO -- The Danish ambassador to the United States has refuted on social media against a post by the U.S. special envoy to Greenland regarding Washington's role in the island's security history.
In response to U.S. special envoy to Greenland Jeff Landry, Danish Ambassador Jesper Moller Sorensen wrote on social media platform X on Sunday that Greenland has been part of the Kingdom of Denmark for centuries, and the fact has repeatedly been recognized by the U.S. administrations, the United Nations, and the international community.
Emphasizing that only the people of Greenland should decide their future, Sorensen added, "For 80 years, Denmark, Greenland, and the U.S. have had a successful security partnership in the Arctic.
