DOHA -- Qatar on Wednesday confirmed in a statement that some personnel are departing from the U.S. Al Udeid Air Base in the country over "regional tensions."

"With reference to circulating media reports regarding the departure of certain personnel from Al Udeid Air Base, the International Media Office (IMO) of the State of Qatar states that such measures are being undertaken in response to the current regional tensions," the IMO said. (Qatar-US-Iran)

CAIRO -- Egypt, Qatar and Türkiye announced on Wednesday the completion of forming a Palestinian technocratic committee to administer Gaza, according to a joint statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The three mediators described the move as "an important development" toward enhancing stability and improving humanitarian conditions in the enclave, noting that the committee is headed by Ali Abdel Hamid Shaath, a veteran engineer and former deputy planning minister in the Palestinian Authority. JERUSALEM -- Israeli military chief Eyal Zamir has instructed forces to bolster defensive readiness across the army, a military official said on Wednesday, citing rising tensions in Iran.

CAIRO -- Egypt will not accept, under any circumstances, the collapse of Sudan, its national institutions, or the fragmentation of its territory, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said on Wednesday.
