DAMASCUS -- Syria's defense authority announced on Tuesday a four-day ceasefire across all operational sectors of the Syrian army, effective from 8:00 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), as part of efforts to support recently reached understandings with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
The ceasefire was declared in commitment to the agreements reached with the SDF and in pursuit of national efforts aimed at preserving security and stability, said a statement carried by state media. (Syria-SDF-Ceasefire)

AMMAN/JERUSALEM -- Israeli authorities on Tuesday demolished several buildings within the East Jerusalem compound of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), an action that drew immediate and sharp condemnation from the UN body.

GAZA -- Hamas on Tuesday urged the international community to take effective action to compel Israel to immediately and fully halt what it described as ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
