ISLAMABAD -- The death toll from a shopping mall fire in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi climbed to 60 after at least 30 bodies were recovered from a shop of the multi-storey building, officials said on Wednesday.

The bodies were recovered from the mezzanine floor of the shopping mall, senior police official Syed Asad Raza told Xinhua, adding that several people are still missing and a search operation is continuing to recover them. (Pakistan-Karachi-Fire)

STRASBOURG, France -- Europe needs to speed up its push for independence in a fast-changing world, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Wednesday.

ADEN, Yemen -- A booby-trapped car exploded on Wednesday targeting a military convoy of pro-government forces in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden, killing two soldiers, a local security official told Xinhua.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the explosives-laden vehicle detonated as the convoy was passing through the Ja'awlah area on the northern outskirts of Aden. (Yemen-Car Bomb-Deaths)

BEIRUT -- Two people were killed on Wednesday in separate Israeli drone strikes targeting vehicles in two districts of southern Lebanon's South Governorate, state media reported.

The National News Agency (NNA) reported that one strike occurred in the Sidon district and the other in the Tyre district, with each attack killing one person.
