MOSCOW, Feb. 5 (Xinhua) -- The use of artificial intelligence (AI)-generated human images in election campaigning violates Russia's electoral law, the country's Supreme Court said Thursday.
The ruling declared unlawful a leaflet produced by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation due to the use of AI-generated images of attractive people in campaign materials to encourage voters to support the party's candidate list.
Under federal law, only images of candidates nominated by electoral associations are allowed in campaign materials, the court said, noting that the special regulation is intended to prevent voters from forming a distorted perception of the candidates. Enditem
